I know that it won't leave us out in the cold. But I fear it will leave us kraving something that casual friendly games cannot deliver. I'm talking difficulty all over, it starts hard, ends hard.

I want to die 100 times, I want to get stuck, I want to feel like I'm fighting for my life, that, is what casual games cannot deliver.

Hardcore gamers don't come from Super Paper Mario and Rayman Raving Rabbids.

Of course casuals have outnumbered hardcores. But that wasn't as much the case 5-20 years ago as it is now, and you can't really deny that with Wii's press coverage the buzzwords are now "casual", "nongamer", and such.
are you sure we arent jumping on the anti-wii bandwagon a bit quick here?

remember that wii has been out for a measly 9 months. and virtually every big game coming out from now till christmas is a definitively "hardcore game" some of them may be more casual friendly than others, but they are still "hardcore" games at heart.

god i hate those words......

Sorry to tell you this webshark, but your in huge denial. Nintendo is casualizing it's games and leaving out hardcore gamers. The easy to play but difficult to master bullshit is your excuse and really doesn't apply to the game at all. It sucks that Nintendo is leaving us behind, but it's time to accept it and join Microsoft.

It gets old.
No, it has nothing to do with Nintendo throwing us a bone, the casuals eat up games with titles like "Mario" or "Zelda" in them.

i would LOVE nintendo if they gave us difficulty settings. they wouldnt even have to change the game, just make every hit do 2X damage or something. that would help out LOADS

Metroid, though? How many FPSs are deemed 'casual'? I think they're going to at least try to uphold the image that they're playing both crowds.

We'll have to see, but this is what they've been doing thus far. I haven't seen any Twilight Princess ads, but the official "Wii would like to play" ads have only featured Wario Ware, Wii Sports, and Mario Party.

So you're saying that the outcome would be different if this was put on another console, say the PS3?

They may be short games (SPM is arguable even in THAT area), but I guarantee far more time, thought, and effort were put into all the games you listed than any of the shovelware that 3rd parties have tried to push.

Or to put it another way, a game doesn't have to be an epic for it to have a high production quality and be worthy of your time and money.
