Huh? Why not give people a stock on how many time they can refuel their hp. I mean say every one has 5 hp restorative, and then they can use them to prevent death. If they forget or are killed to quickly oh well. It wouldn't favor the campers like regenerating health and no health packs to fight over.

Now I think about it, Killzone 2 does it differently online. It regenerates slightly, but you need a health pack from a medic to heal fully.

No, in Resistance 2 they made it regenerating health.

Yeah, KZ2 online and Resistance are pretty much how the original Halo was. In Halo, you had your shield, but once your shield was down you had a 2nd health bar, which only regenerated with health packs.

I believe they were the types of bastards who only let you take the pack if you needed it, rather than letting you stock up on them.

It doesn't make it less competitive, it makes it a different type of game. With health regeneration, you can take more risks. IMO, it makes the game more dynamic. You're never in a situation where you can only take one more hit and are forced to slow down or hide for long periods of time.

Over the years, I've enjoyed both types of games though.

But again, it has nothing to do with how competitive a game is. The rules are the same for everyone, so your succes still depends on your skill level.

Chibi would still play it, as a matter of fact Chibi only relies on health and regain on single player modes any way, just like rounds said, in most shooters you won't get much time to heal up anyway unless you camp the respawn sections.

honestly Chibi would find it more fun.

I personally like how Mag does it. No regen health (unless you have an Officer in Charge and you are in their proximity, then you DO have somewhat slow health regen), instead you either can have a medical kit (Which is the best healing item, and allows you to heal yourself, heal someone else, or if someone is down and they are bleeding still and havent fully died, you can revive them), a first aid kit (its only for personal healing, and doesnt feel as good as the med kit, but its a good backup and you wont have to spend any spec points to get it as you have an option for it with your different gear options), or nothing and just rely on other people healing you. And when people heal you or you heal yourself, the heal isn't instantaneous, it disperses over a few seconds time, so you cant just do a quick heal and forget, you'll have to take a few seconds to let it kick in before getting back in the fight.

MAG also has light, heavy, and medium armors, and one of the specs allow you to increase your max health, so if you want, you could be a monster tank guy with increased health and heavy armor if you want, but you will move slow, easy target for snipers.
