This question is for everybody and I'm genuinely interested in your onions. I won't shit on your onions like I normally do. Here are some additional questions (mostly multiplayer focused) I hope spur some additional discussion. What if health/shield regen was single player only? and multiplayer is on health bar system with no health pack pickups? Would you? and do you think others would? Do you think the health/shield regen game mechanic makes the competitive multiplayer less competitive then it could be? Explain why or why not. What do you think about if a developer gave you the options? Such as health/shield regen joinable lobbies and games and health bar system (no healthpacks) lobbies and games? Bonus question for the lulz What do you think the perception of gamers would be if when they start up a lobby or create a game and the game mechanic in question is called "n00b mode" and it is checked by default? What if there was a sad face next to it when its checked and the only way to make it a happy face was to uncheck it? Alright, have at it! EDIT: NO HEALTHPACKS!

I think health packs are crap, but if a game had them it wouldn't stop me from playing it. I've known health packs a lot longer than I have health regen, so I could get used to it again. It's annoying and a pain in the arse, though. And then games applied the functionality differently: some let you pick up the health packs and save them for a rainy day, while others said "If you don't need it, you can't have it" which was THE WORST. Health packs don't seem to make much sense for multiplayer, though. Then everyone's scrambling around trying to pick up health packs rather than playing the game. This is also why I never liked the "find your own weapon" system in FPS MP either. |

I don't get what the big deal is with this health pack vs. regen thing, but sure. I like regeneration better, but certain games having health packs instead hasn't stopped me from liking them (TF2 for example). I don't think multiplayer would be as good with health packs because it seems like everyone would be camping the spawns and such. Like respawning weapons. I never liked that much. I really don't think this is big enough an issue that developers should create and balance the game for the option of both health packs and regen. If having a regenerating shield or running around picking up health bothers people enough to not play the game... well... I don't know what to say. |

Because health packs make you take more time and care in keeping your character alive!

Oops! So there's no regenerating health at all then? I'd still go for it. Hell, most times in MW2 I don't get to regen anyway before I'm dead. |

I think if you had no chance to restore your health at all in multiplayer I wouldn't really care. Like rounds I don't usually get the chance to run to a health pack or regenerate anyway. Heck it's not like you can replenish health in fighting games. Other people might care though, I really don't know their mindset. | |

| That was Resistance, and is still the best idea for health regeneration/health packs.... then they fucked it up.

Oh, I could have sworn I saw that in a video review of KZ2. Maybe not. What happened?
