Default WTF happened to RAYMAN?

A game on PS1 that when out its way to above 6 mill in sales, to Rayman 2, which actually has been compared and some found better than games like Crash or TLoZOoT. He had a foot racing game that actually sold decently. then on PS2 and Gameboy, he kinda vanishes. Now, he's not even in his games anymore. Rabbits go home doesn't have RAYMAN in it. He was great! Why the horroble games and the strange dissapearence? He even had a TV show! Seriously. What happened to Mr.Dark? Razorbeard? Betilda the fairy? The Wizard? Globox? What the heck, i want a new Rayman platforming game! There most be an explaination.

I've only played Rayman 3 on the GameCube and thought it was pretty mediocre, so... meh, I don't care.

Play Rayman and Rayman 2. They're pretty good platformers. Rayman 1 is on DSiWare for $8 and Rayman 2 is on the DS.

Actually, I should go and play Rayman 1 again. I don't think I've played it since I got it like 15 years ago. It was pretty challenging and fun... and some of the levels were just crazy.

I loved the original Rayman. Some of the level design was awesome and the platforming was awesome.

The rest of the series is balls.

It's on a console no one owns.

Its the first version ever made. Rayman was a Jaguar exclusive, though I think the PC/PS1 versions probably came not that long after, a year or so maybe.

If other 3rd parties for the Jaguar made good exclusives like Ubisoft did for Rayman, the system could have had a longer lifespan, though with how bad Atari's own games usually were for the system, I doubt they would have made it for another generation anyway.
