Dying to buy a PS3 for Uncharted 2 but my pride says no. And I still love EA.

i just got back from a nightclub (not drunk because it fuckin sucked) that had tv's on the walls playing loops of effects and stuff, like a screensaver

couldn't help but think how sickness that would be in 3D

I don't know Leo - it's not as if 3D is a new thing. I wish people would stop acting as if it is.

If we haven't cared about 3D for the last 30 years, I'm not sure why we're suddenly supposed to now.

My stance now is that 3D can go suck an egg, but if others enjoy it then that's fine too. I won't stand in the way of their enjoyment as long as it's not shoved down my throat.

isn't that what you said about the wii?

look how that turned out

those with a brain know that 3D will become the norm, there is practically not a single reason why it wouldn't

go on

name a single reason why 3D will not become standard

you cannot

pretty much done itt

Still puzzled at how graphics centric gamers and people who champion forward moving technology are so negative about autostereoscopic 3D?

When 3DS launches it will make such technology easier to obtain than it is today, which cant be a bad thing.

And even if 3D is not your forte, you can turn it off with a slide of your finger.

Whats the problem?

I think 3D is the future, but in limited capacity, it wont be AS successful as HD, as not as many people can enjoy 3D (you have to have vision in BOTH eyes for it to be effective, standard and HD tvs can be viewed fine by people with just 1 eye) and it doesnt have any good applicable uses (watch the news in 3D? Weather in 3D? Home shopping in 3d? No thanks).

It will be good for sports (especially if filming crews take advantage of this to do something funky like put cameras on a catcher's or quarterback's helmet, seeing the game just like they would), movies (this is a given for movies with higher intensity, but I doubt romantic movies, and most comedies and dramas would be improved by this at all), and otherwise programming which is more visually stimulating (racing, action TV shows, science/history shows, etc.)

I think it's just the automatic response whenever Nintendo releases something innovative.

And really now, Nintendo isn't innovating with the 3DS because glasses-free TVs were shown off before? As far as I know, they're the first to put that technology on a handheld. They're making glasses-free 3D 1) portable and 2) standard. That's like saying flashlights weren't inventive because light bulbs already existed.

Don't get me wrong i'm in love with the 3DS but shouldn't the credit go to Sharp? Weren't they the company that developed the tech not Nintendo?
