I thought there were vehicles? Sounds like they're saying the killstreaks are vehicles, which is what I thought originally, because they don't mention anything like tanks or the like in this hands-on.

Otherwise, this is pretty much MW2 with more customization, which is basically what MW2 was to MW. Still not convinced that I'm going to suddenly enjoy this again.

glitchers & cheaters will have no place in black ops multiplayer

http://gameinformer.com/b/news/archi...-treyarch.aspx

Quote:
Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer has been plagued by cheaters taking advantage of glitches, and Black Ops developer Treyarch has taken notice. In a recent interview, the game's online director Dan Bunting made it clear the company has a special weapon ready for players who try to cheat their way up the ranks in Black Ops: the ban hammer.

Bunting told Nowgamer that Treyarch is well aware of the impact cheating has had on the Call of Duty series, stating it has "diminished the reputation of the franchise in a lot of people's eyes." Luckily, Treyarch has plans in place to deal with any potential problems. "We have a lot of anti-cheating, anti-boosting stuff going on behind the scenes, so we are monitoring that...We're going to have a very heavy hand in the online security of our game." He added, “Cheating won't pay. It'll just bring down the ban hammer.”

This should come as welcome news to Modern Warfare 2 fans. Treyarch has gotten a lot of flak from gamers in the past as being a developer that just pumps out sequels to other studio's franchises, but I have to say, everything I've read about Black Ops has been promising. We'll bring you more on the game as we approach its November 9 release date

Scavenger - terrible - it was one of the perks people exploited most in MW2

Marathon and Ninja - terrible

Lots of terrible and that's only going by the ones I know. Who knows what "Warlord" or any of the other new perks are. I'm sure they're mostly terrible as well.

I want to have interest, you see? I've loved COD for many years!

Plus, I know it pisses DZ off.

gary oldman returns

Oldman, Harris confirmed for Call of Duty: Black Ops - News at GameSpot

Oldman, Harris confirmed for Call of Duty: Black Ops
By Alex Sassoon Coby, GameSpot UK Posted Sep 7, 2010 3:43 am PT

World at War favourite and History of Violence star confirmed for Treyarch's shooter; Dark Knight scribe David S. Goyer helping with script and story.

True Crime, Spyro the Dragon, and Call of Duty: Black Ops all have one thing in common: Gary Oldman. Activision confirmed today that the Hollywood star, best known for his roles in Leon, True Romance and The Dark Knight would be returning to the Call of Duty franchise to voice Viktor Reznov from Treyarch's previous entry, World at War.

Ed Harris has played military types before, such as in 1996's The Rock.

The megapublisher also confirmed that Ed Harris, known for his roles in such movies as The Right Stuff, The Rock, and National Treasure: Book of Secrets as well as more substantive fare such as A History of Violence and A Beautiful Mind, would be voicing CIA operative Jason Hudson, one of the game’s main characters. Activision also said that support for the script and story scribes would be being provided by FlashForward co-creator and comic book writer David S. Goyer. Goyer also wrote the scripts for critically acclaimed Batman reboot Batman Begins and the story for its sequel The Dark Knight.

Oldman is no stranger to video game projects having first worked on Medal of Honor: Allied Assault in 2003. Since then he has leant his voice to True Crime: Streets of LA and three separate Spyro The Dragon titles. Goyer contributed to the story of the Batman Begins game, while Black Ops is Harris' first game project.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is due out worldwide on November 9, and has not yet been officially rated by the ESRB or the BBFC.

It's looking less and less likely by the day! Especially given the fact that there are so many good games being released around that time. I won't miss this.

I'm still waiting for them to convince me, though!
