Nintendo and Pokemon Co. officially announced that Pokemon Heart Gold and Pokemon Soul Silver will be coming to NDS in Japan this fall, remake of Pokemon Gold & Silver to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the two games. thats all it is, good thing I still own my silver for GBC

Updated the OP with news: Your starter follows your character out of battle like in Pokemon Yellow. I also linked to the TV announcement and a screenshot of what the game looks like. Also Boffo is a bro for changing the title for me.
