And before some witty anti-apple comes posting "a giant leap for the iPhone is a port of 20 year old game" I'd like to remind you that no Western game yet reached the level of a 20 year old JRPG. Even SE has trouble pulling it off again.

Final Fantasy sucks up until VI, then started sucking again with IX.

Must disagree!

FF1 and FF2 are my most replayed FF titles. They are so simple, honest and pure. Think of them as the Pac-Man or Tetris of JRPGs. You'll need to add DQ1 and DQ2.

FF1 and DQ1 are renowned for their simplicity, you can finish them in a single day.

The iPhone OS seems to be getting the best ports of FF1 and FF2. Excellent games when I want a quick random turn-based battle.

Gizmodo reports that Sega is about to release a free iPhone emulator called Ultimate Genesis which will offer SEGA Genesis games to purchase via downloadable content (DLC).

The free app will include Space Harrier II and offer the following titles as additional purchases.

Sonic the Hedgehog: $5.99
Golden Axe: $4.99
Ecco the Dolphin: $2.99
Shining Force: $2.99
The move seems like an obvious one, but has been made possible due to some changes in Apple's rules. The new app is supposed to appear in the App Store sometime early Feb.
OMG!!!! THIS IS SOOOOOOO HOTT!

You could buy the Ultimate Genesis collection with 40+ games for about the same price as you could buy those 4 games combined.

Maybe on PSN and XBLA.
A better pricing would have been $0.99 a game

I'm only interested in Shining Force one less cup of coffee

True, but Shining Force at the a la carte price of 2.99 is a bargain to say the least.

And coming with Space Harrier 2 for free was win. I am just so happy when I played Chapter 15 on Bayonetta, it was like playing Space Harrier, one of Sega's most underrated games ever.

I once played Space Harrier in some crappy diner thing with a full moving arcade unit.

Was awesome.
