| I feel the handheld gaming market is just going haywire. Yes, the PSP brought a new rival to Nintendos death grip around handheld gaming. But, even though the PSP had bad battery life and you could shoot your friends with UMDS, but it had potential. Some of which Sony screwed up. The Basics. The new DSi by Nintendo has things that the first PSP had. However, there are MILLIONS of people thinking either the exact opposite, or thinking that the PSPS must be inferior. The PSP is the better console. My belief is with handhelds, and some consoles, the best always fail. The Neo-Geo Pocket color should have destroyed Nintendo, as it was fantastic. It failed quite horribly. First, when the DS came out you heard, TOUCH SCREEN, PENICL, MARIO, POKEMON, NINTENDO WIFI CONNECTION, PICTOCHAT. That's what you heard about the first DS. Maybe a bit more. The PSP you hear, PLAY MOVIES, 3D GAMES, DOWNLOAD MUSIC, PSN, ONLINE, GAME SHARING, CLASSIC PS1 REMAKES, ENHANCE GRAPHICS FOR HANDHELD, AWESOME TOOK AWHILE TO MAKE GAMES!, BUT THINGS!, SURF THE NET! SKYPE!. And More. Now, there are some reasons for failure. Sony, wasted a ton of money on the system without paying attention to the system itself. For one, I would be cautious putting a UMD in my pocket. The PSP is quite breakable as well. It gets different power %'s by what you do. Which makes sense for the Internet at least. Nobody really wants to buy a small ass memory card for the PSP. Which also, I wouldn’t carry in my pocket. It's Screen can get messed up quite easily, and doesn't have R2/L2 buttons. UMDs themselves are to flimsy. The cases break you are screwed till you get a new one. The DS: I also not really a droppable item. I'm actually sure something broken on the DS will be more irritating then something breaking on the PSP. GBA game sticks out to far. Inconvenient for putting in your pocket with game sticking out like that. A few GBA games have problems being played on the DS like Megaman Battle Network 4. It's Nintendo Wi-Fi connection uses friend codes and no browser. Later, the DS has no GBA slot, and has a weak browser. The shoulder buttons on the DS can get worn out with excessive play. Not as much problems as PSP on the outside but may make you a bit more furious. Especially if the touch screen messes up. That's another thing to, the Touch screen is usually off and orienting it does nothing sometimes. Now for the Inner: The PSP: The PSP games can go past and be the same as the PS1 with slight differences. PSP Games can handle many graphic enhancements, and SONY adds updates for you to download, to add new features to your PSP, including graphic enhancement, and better quality. Some games have auto-updates as well. Online Game play works quite well, may have a few problems. The PSP has a great interactive browser, but not so great as it uses Netscape (According to some IP finding sites.) Bt no exactly sure WHAT it uses anymore. But I think it is netscape. You can use Skype to use your PSP as a phone. You can download files, and upload via internet. high quality music streaming, and a decent video player. In fact, its possible to download PSP demo/games from the internet. (Even before PSP PSN came out.) You may customize your wallpaper or theme, and sold separately is a camera. Which BTW, you can upload via internet the pictures you took. DS: Has a Pictochat, a clock, a calendar, and a few other things. Later DS has a browser, not as clean as the PSPs, and can play music and take pictures as well. The picture part better than PSP as the camera is already there. Same limitation usually apply with all ds's. You can also download games with later DS'S through the DS shop. Now as good looking as the PSP store. The DS games, can never look like the PSP, and the touch screen can, and will be irritating. Oh, and the DS' have a mic. In reality, The DS is looked upon as the better system. Even though mostly the titles of some games give it a lot of its sales and it tries to be cheaper and family friendly. The PSP can be family friendly, and costs a bit more. It may have flaws. Most likely even more than the DS. But the truth is that the PSP, with a serious look, is ACTUALLY the better system. It just got annihilated by bad decisions, and luck by the competitor. Yes, some may say some excuses like battery life makes the PSP worse. But Battery life is only one part of the system. Do you play battery life? Battery life is not a game. The system has so many things that there most be limits. It was a good job, and it looks more professional than the DS as well. All in all, sales don't mean everything.

I'm glad it failed. It did everything a gaming handheld wasn't supposed to do and did nothing it was supposed to do. A bad product should fail and should fail hard.

What you mean? It did everything it was supposed to do better than the DS. It's execution was retarted though. AI also realize, you only posted to say the PSP failed. Only a fool would say the DS was the BETTER system.

Then I'm and +100M others are fool* ![]() PSP delivers nothing new in terms of gameplay, it is merely a media handheld that also plays games the DS is about games first and foremost * one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively

So you insulted the GBA while defending the DS. Oh BTW, The DSI is a media handheld that plays games.

The GBA is a product of another era, Sony should be ashamed for copying it, not Nintendo.

I refuse to believe that you actually own a system or handheld in question until you post of picture of it with a note next to it clearly written "I am a homo"

No, not you. The other guy who clearly doesn't own anything and copy and pastes topics and responses straight out of the Gamespot or IGN forums.
