Default The next Nintendo system

Just been wondering this. They have a 2 screen stylus touch screen system with wifi play. What could the next system possibly be? I think it's going to end up looking like a side kick or another 2 screen system with some new feature (Mind control!)

I love Mr. Bomb. It's fun to be able to engage in conversation with a full-blown mentally challenged person. Just gives you a new perspective on life.

Don't you ever give in, you're a trooper! Who knows, maybe one of these days you'll say something that makes sense!

Hugs & kisses.

I think they're gonna stick with the dual screen touch format, but we'll see higher resolution screens, both screens probably will be touchscreen, and we will have multitouch capabilities. Not sure what else

Well with the way that the current system is selling they might not want to introduce anything new too soon.

True on one hand, but Nintendo has a cycle where they traditionally will introduce systems within a certain amt of time. The DSs time is about up, its been around since 2004. A new system we will most certainly have by 2011, and we'll probably get a year or 2 after that before DS is dead. The main thing that's helping the DS currently is how most of the game devs on the Iphone/Ipod Touch barely uses the system's capabilities, most games on that system are marginally better looking than DS, but it is most certainly capable of more, probably even close to the PSP. Now graphics aren't everything of course, but it offers a similar game experience, with cheaper games and better graphics, so what incentive does someone have to keep paying 30$ for DS games if they also have an iPhone and can get the same game for 10$?

Huh, I'd go with built in tilt controls. I'd be best if it did double the resolution, for proper scaling in 2D games, and higher res in 3D games with proper antianalyzation. Maybe FFIIIDS would look un-pixelized on it. But I don't expect it Nintendo only slightly upped the resolution each gen. Can't say I can think of anything else

Nintendo can always be first next gen. Sony probably still sees life in PSP and will keep it around longer.
A next gen. DS is no sooner than 2 years from last holiday season.

Yeah. Even the $30 price difference seems nothing when you can make up for it after 2 or 3 games.

First two gens of iPhone and iPod touch are probably less than PSP -if for anything than the more tasking OS-, but 3rd gen are undoubtedly more powerful. Doesn't matter really, I bought FFI and FFII both for $18, that's less than the cost of one of them for the PSP, and so it is for many of the games released on either PSP or DS and also on iPhone OS. I personally would pay for more battery life than more power. That's why I still prefer the DS for handheld gaming and don't mind paying +$30 for DS games.

Here's some tidbits on iPhone and iPod touch specs:
iPhone 2G
CPU 400MHz
GPU PowerVR MBX Lite
128MB DRAM

iPhone 3G
CPU 400MHz
GPU PowerVR MBX Lite
128MB DRAM

iPhone 3GS
CPU 600MHz
GPU PowerVR SGX
256MB DRAM

iPod touch 1st gen.
CPU 412MHz
GPU PowerVR MBX Lite
128MB DRAM

iPod touch 2nd gen.
CPU 533MHz
GPU PowerVR MBX Lite
128MB DRAM

iPod touch 3rd gen.
CPU 600MHz
GPU PowerVR SGX
256MB DRAM
