I know what will happen. Someone will win the game 1-0 like just about every other Bruins-Rangers game in the last two seasons.

I'm guessing the Bs will win. Rangers just don't have it.

So despite the Rangers and Bruins being in a battle for a playoff spot, I was still undecided if I wanted the Rangers or Leafs to win last night. I am hoping it worked out well. The Leafs clinched 29th overall guaranteeing the B's no worse than the 3rd pick in the draft thanks to the Kessel trade. And with the Rangers and Flyers playing their last 2 games against each other those game will hopefully decide which of those 2 make it and leave the B's in the clear.

Anything can still happen at this point. For whatever reason, they were saying the Rangers had to win all of their games or else they were definitely out of the playoffs. Umm, they're only 3 behind the Bs with 2 to play? Of course, if the Bs win one they're definitely in. Also, I think the Rangers could still have won the season series against Philly and tie them in pts. if they lost last night. Although, I could be wrong in assuming a tie breaker would be decided by head-to-head record before number of overall wins? Anyhow, the Rangers will win Friday to get my hopes up and then lose on Sunday to crush them again. Either way, I don't see them going very far, but the prospect of being able to watch the Rangers for another week or two is enough to have me excited.

The Rangers are currently one point behind the Bruins and 2 back of the Flyers. Rangers and Flyers have 2 games each still left and the Bruins have 3 remaining. After points the next tiebreaker is wins. I believe the Rangers would hold the win tiebreaker over the Bruins, but not the Flyers. As long as neither of the Ranger/Flyer games go to OT the Bruins only need one more win to clinch a playoff spot. If one or both the Ranger/Flyer games end up as 3 point games then things get more confusing. As long as the Bruins win 2 of their last 3 they are guaranteed a playoff spot regardless.

Big win for the B's tonight. Now the pressure is really on the Rangers as a regulation loss will now eliminate them. Poor Tuukka Rask. Amazing numbers this season and will lead the league in GAA and SP but won't get any serious consideration for the Vezina or even the Calder because he'll only play in 45ish games. Thanks for that trade too Toronto. How's Andrew Raycroft holding up for you?

I saw the Bs game - it was a good one. Lousy Buffalo! ![]() I think I had my facts a little messed up in the post above, but the end result is the same: Rangers need to WIN! Home in home against the Flyers for their last two - tonight and Sunday. Fingers crossed! |

| That is true. They currently can not make the playoffs unless they win at least one of the games and take the other to OT.

At least the Bruins have guaranteed they'll make it to the 3rd round since that's the only round they'll be able to face Montreal in, and it's a playoff inevitability that the two teams will meet at some point whenever they both qualify.
