downphoenix You don't have a clue. Manning didn't choke, his team did. There were about 3 perfectly dropped passes that were could have been complete game changers. 2 of the 3 that would have led to large foot races and possibly touchdowns. Hell, there were several completed passes that would have gotton touchdowns had they beaten the last guy who barely took a shin/ankle tackle. Then there was the guy who tried to catch the onside kick with his face. ![]() Manning is a far better QB then any current player. Likely will be the best all time by the time his career is over. Considering Freeney wasn't even in for half of the defensive plays with the ankle injury, the Saints simply got lucked out. They certainly didn't outplay Manning who passed for over 300+ yards. Would have been 400+ if he had another drive to work with. Hardly anything to get excited about or even brag about.

| Not really. On paper its his error, but that was really a Wayne error. He saw the blitz coming and didn't cut his slant correctly. Had he cut in correctly, he could have very well got the 1st down.

Yeah, even that interception wasn't entirely Manning's fault. He threw it to the area where he thought his receiver would run to - that's what you do against an all-out blitz. His receiver ran to a different spot and the rest is history. And I'm not "defending" Manning because I didn't really care that the Colts lost. Just calling it like it is. Manning, literally, made one bad throw. I'm sorry but you can't blame the game on him for 1 bad throw. Obviously a lot of other bad things had to happen outside of that or they still could have won. |

Well, yeah. But the thing is that it wasn't a bad throw. If the receiever was forced to catch the ball on a wider route, he would have been decimated on the tackle and never make the 1st down. I'm no Colts fan, but I know an excellent QB when I see one. Manning is almost a completely flawless QB. The only part of his game he could improve upon is his ability to scramble better when nobody is open, yet. But he never gets those situations much because he is just simply that good with his audibles and in the pocket.

Well, I said it was a bad throw, but you're right - it wasn't. The only thing I would say he could have done differently is just throw it away. I also agree that Manning is one of the greatest ever. I'd still put a couple above him, but he's definitely top 5. |

Epic onside kick btw. Saints kicker was gold too.

when a team falls, you have to blame the leader. Manning is the leader. He abused his audible system and made some bad calls. Yes, other people were factors, some catches that should have been caught but weren't, the defense missed opportunities they should have taken, yes, all this is true, but remember, when the US was in shambles in the economy, who did America blame? Did we blame the banks? The Oil companies? The Fed? No, we blamed GWB. And Obama will receive the blame if he doesnt fix the mess. That is how it works. Normally, I would say blame the coach, but Manning practically is the coach since he does a lot of his own calls on the field.
