Ok new topic. I would like to reset my PC but I do not have my original Vista disc (Don't think I ever got one when purchased) how can I reset my PC? It just has a multitude of problems.

If it came with a vista disc, just put that in and boot from disc, it will wipe the drive and give you a clean install of vista.
This is essentially the result I wish to achieve but I do not have a disc. ..................................

If you don't have the disc, then HP probably reserved a recovery partition on your harddrive for Vista. You can use that in the same way you'd use a Vista disc.

However, I would recommend buying Windows 7. I've had both Vista and 7, and I can definitely say that 7 is a bit step up in performance.

Therefore once again: sell your current laptop and get a decent new one. Keep an eye out for deals and discounts. Good laptops aren't that expensive anymore, and you really don't need a brand new high-end machine to run SC2.

I agree actually. I decided not to upgrade. Will keep my eyes open for a decent laptop deal in the next year or so.

I still want to fix this one though. Is Windows 7 really worth the hundred dollars?

How would I go about using the recovery partition in my harddrive. I have tried looking for a way to recover before but it always says I never made any restore points.

It depends on what you plan to do with your current laptop. If you intend on still using it on a day-to-day basis for a long time, I would reccommend getting Win7. It's definitely worth it.

Windows 7 has been pretty well flawless for me so far, I got a new laptop about 2 weeks ago.

Not sure if anybody noticed this or not, but is it even POSSIBLE to upgrade graphics for a laptop? I thought they only used integrated chipsets for graphics.

They do. Some companies have played around with external GPU's for a while, but nothing commercially worth while has come out yet.
