Default Got my hands on a 3DO

Yup, just got my hands on a 3DO quite randomly actually, I came across this shop with all kinds of old junk and in one of the boxes I noticed the 3DO and I couldn't resist the pricetag, 250 danish crowns which would equal to 50$. And it even came with 3 games, Need for Speed, Corpse Killer and Advanced Dungeons and Dragons: Slayer. Never tried or seen this console IRL so I thought what the hell, I haven't tried it yet though since it's NTSC so I need an adapter. But I thought it was pretty cool to find this and it would definetly not hurt my collection

Pretty good find, and the 3D0 actually had some very good games, it could have been a good competitor to the Playstation or N64 if it had took off better and got better 3rd party and 1st party support.

Plus they had a good idea with outsourcing hardware development to others, which although the console was at 700$ at launch, they were able to get costs down quick doing it this way. A cue Sony probably should have took with the PS3. Of course, the price going down due to cheaper manufacturing didnt matter a whole lot since the console didnt really sell enough hardware to be relevent.

The consoles were manufactured according to specifications created by The 3DO Company, and were originally designed by Dave Needle and RJ Mical of New Technology Group. The system was conceived by entrepreneur and Electronic Arts founder Trip Hawkins.[2]
Despite a highly-promoted launch (including being named Time magazine's "1994 Product of the Year") and a host of cutting-edge technologies, the 3DO's high price ($699.95 USD at launch), limited 3rd-party developer support, and an over-saturated console market prevented the system from achieving success comparable to competitors Sega and Nintendo.[2] This console was originally released in North America in September 1993 and was later released in Japan on March 20, 1994.

I remember those things, my friend had one.

There was a fighting game and it was the only fun title it had, I can't remember much about it, that was more than 13 years ago!

The 3D0 had some great arcade fighting game conversions. Until the newfangled consoles, it was the best place to play Samurai Shodown or Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, nearly perfect arcade ports. Sure, there was Neo Geo but you can buy a damn SYSTEM for one of those carts and then some
