| They are irrelevant in the desktop and consumer electronics market. The technology they feared will make them irrelevant and tried to conquer with products like the IBM PC. They sort of had a comeback with their CPUs being in all consoles, but most consumers don't know or care. They lost the desktop and laptop business. They are strong players in the server, mainframe and supercomputer market.
