Well, Valve has made good on their not-so-subtle teases by announcing it will bring its digital distribution platform Steam, along with the developer's acclaimed library of titles, to Macs this April.
Valve president Gabe Newell called the Mac "a great platform for entertainment services," adding, "As we transition from entertainment as a product to entertainment as a service, customers and developers need open, high-quality Internet clients."

Not only will Mac users be able to enjoy the likes of Left 4 Dead 2, Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike , Portal and Half-Life, but those players who previously purchased games on Steam for PC will be able to play them all for free on their Macs as well, thanks to the new Steam Play feature. Also, multiplayer (sharing servers, lobbies, etc.) will be cross-platform supported between the PCs and Macs.

"We are treating the Mac as a tier-1 platform so all of our future games will release simultaneously on Windows, Mac, and the Xbox 360,” said director of Steam development, John Cook in a statement.

Valve also announced that the recently revealed Portal 2 will be their first game to be released simultaneously on PC and Mac.
