I really cant wait to play this game. I know, pathetic, its over 2 years old now, but its the most recent RPG on the PC that is a high end RPG (meaning advanced as far as the graphics, presentation, scope of the publishing effort) that is not either an MMO or available on consoles as well, a sad state of affairs for the PC. Anyway, played the demo, it straight kicked ass. And I love how the game allows for 2 completely different styles of play, an over the shoulder which is more combat oriented and has a console RPG-ish feel to it, and an isometric style that is similar to how you may play Diablo type games. They were coming out with a console version for PS3/XBOX360, but apparently there was a dispute that caused it to be indefinitely halted, such a shame, so I feel lucky that I got the best graphics card I could get in this machine (its a slimline, so size and power usage were factors) so I can play this game. In case you are wondering what kind of RPG it is, I have a couple hours into the demo (yes, this demo's playtime is in HOURS, not Minutes, virtually unheard of these days) and it feels to me like a mix of a recent Bioware-ish RPG (Mass Effect, Dragon Age), but more nonlinear ala Elder Scrolls. Its quite a good mix, because it has a very open ended feel that Bioware games dont USUALLY hate, but it doesnt have a completely shitty selection of voice actors or storylines (And the funny thing is, the original game has "Shitty" voice acting, the Enhanced version has even better voice actors, but that bieng said, virtually every voice actor that wasn't named Patrick Stewart in Oblivion was worse ). So I'll let you know what I think of the final game. BTW, requires aren't TOO shabby on this one, oddly enough the Enhanced Edition my PC actually surpasses the recommended mark on Can You Run It? yet with the original it went about halfway between the required and recommended mark, I guess the EE also has better programming, etc. to make it run more smoothly. The obligatory Youtube video to show it off. The combat system is quite good. YouTube - The Witcher Enhanced Edition Max Settings - HD Gameplay 720p (running and fighting)

if you buy it at atari.com and use Atari50 at checkout, you can get it for 10$ (plus optional 3.95 for extended download service). Id say its worth it. It says the game is excluded from the offer but it works, the exclusion refers to getting the DVD rom instead of download copy.

So I just finished this. Holy fucking shit the game was great. A lot of the mechanics could be refined, but for the devs first game, it was fucking brilliant. Can't wait for Witcher 2.
