Dying to buy a PS3 for Uncharted 2 but my pride says no. And I still love EA.

Got it this afternoon, it's very polished and they added a lot more than just a bunch of new units.

First off, it's less linear, you have a choice between different missions most of the time. I wouldn't be surprised if some choices have an influence on the story later on, since it's often a choice between helping people out, or going after riches.

The other new things are mercenaries, upgrades and research. You can hire mercenaries which you can call in during the battle for a limited number of times. Upgrades are now handled between missions. You can spend credits you have in your armory, so units you train during your missions are upgraded automatically (instead of doing it in-game, like in most RTS games.) And then there's research. You can earn research points during missions by doing side-objectives (not needed for completing the mission), and you can spend those on all kinds of crazy stuff for your buildings, turrets etc.

Gameplay-wise, it's still classic StarCraft. Good micro-management and having the right units at the right time are the key to victory.

I've only scratched the surface so far, but it's looking very promising. Shame I have to work tonight.

I was checking out some other's comments, and they've been all good so far.

Like, literally all of them... I haven't seen one bad thing said. I am contemplating the purchase, since there won't be any worthwhile console games for a few months now.

One thing REALLY annoys me though.

I'm on nightshift this week, so I was planning on bringing my laptop to play some SC2 during the quiet hours of the night.

Turns out, if you're not connected to the internet you can only sign in with a 'guest' account, meaning you can't access your saved games. You can only play on your account if you connect to battle.net.

Turnes out Neither of my computers can run it :/

Kinda pissed right now. My mac has the wrong operating system even though it meets the power requirements and my PC meets them as well but for some reason it won't work (probably has something to do with windows XP).

I had to cancel my pre-order of the Limited edition due to low funds.

Shit sucks.

aww

Are you going to get the regular edition at least? I've looked at the limited edition, if you ask me it's not really worth the extra cash. (Mind you this is coming from a big StarCraft fan.)
