Default Gran Turismo 5: The Winds are Whispering but their Words are not yet Clear

The Winds are Whispering but their Words are not yet Clear - GTP Forums

From what I understand the poster is one of Polyphony Digital's PR guys.

People on the forum seem to think:

- Simultaneous worldwide GT5 release March 2010. (12 months - 30 days)

- 600 cars and 96 tracks, some of which are modelled from previous releases.

- Customisable user created tracks

- Multiplayer with voice chat, clan/team support

- Two versions to be released. One full version - more expensive, one cheaper, but able to download and customise what is required. eg Blu Ray/PSN editions?

- Another platform release - one that "has not been uncovered". PSP2 perhaps?

I teared up a little.

You jest, but some people actually said this and, as far as I'm aware, meant it. Completely ignoring the fact Sony own the developer and IP.

Gran Turismo 4 had 700 cars and 51 tracks.

I also doubt 96 tracks is going to be "96 unique tracks", variations and reverse tracks could potentially play into that.

Plus, with some of them being modelled from previous releases, there's a lot to choose from.

I'm wary of pre-advertised numbers of tracks ever since the Motorstorm demo mentioned the final game having something like 40 tracks. I'll assume 96 tracks actually means 20-30 tops.

Unless there's motion control then it will simply be dismissed as nothing more than a tech demo for graphics whores.
