I'm starting to wonder about the answer to that question. 2 years ago I would have been in full agreement, but I don't know anymore. The thing just sells...and if it wasn't Wii Sports it would've been Wii-something-else that would have caught on. People I know buy the thing for kicks, w/o really any intentions of using it much! |

Natal and "Arc" or "Gem" or "Motion" or "Sphere" or whatever it's called will fail. And fail hard. Something that captures an audience to that degree is luck of the draw, trying to recreate it ends in failure. They may be "good", but they will never have that audience. I have spoken. |

You'll eat crow when -not if- Natal succeeds.

Well, I thought the Wand would be instafail considering it was due to release soon and we've not heard about one game for the thing. I think the delay was their best move. I still don't think Sony's looking to make the Wand the "next big thing" though. They've shown no evidence of that. And in that case, it's hard for something to fail when expectations were in the basement from the start. Natal can fail because MS is putting a lot of eggs in that basket. I don't think it will, but I also don't believe that it's going to sell in Wii-like numbers. Not even close. |

A lot of people think they'll release a "Slim" 360. I think that's a great move: look what it did for Sony. I don't know what MS thinks of it, though - but they'd be fools to do anything else. Even still - a relaunch boost would only last so long. Maybe for a month it could sell like the Wii, but not for an extended period of time. We are where we are in this gen, and I don't think anything's going to change (in terms of sales). |

Start the next gen then. It is about time anyway. No gen lasted more than 5 yrs.

Yeah, I'd guess with next gen -- if Natal is considered even somewhat a success - they'll bundle it with every 360 and throw some nonsense game in the box. I wouldn't look for that to happen for at least 2 more years, though. No way MS (or Sony, especially) can afford to release another console so soon. Well, MS can "afford" to, but they need to show stockholders that they're at least TRYING to turn a profit. |

Sony has a 10 year plan ![]() Microsoft already made the investment in Natal, all they need is to bundle it with a redesigned XBox360 and call it NextBox or something; a la Wii. They'll turn a profit quick on it.
