Which is true, I'm sure someone could push something close to Godcharted, someday, but Naughty Dog have an internal team called ICE that handles a lot of PS3 software for Sony first parties to use. I also wish more Sony devs would use Santa Monica's AA they used in GoWIII. No jaggies. |

Yup, MS doesn't have the big first party developers extracting every last ounce out of their console the way that Sony does. Case in point: the best looking game on 360 is a game that runs on a multi-platform engine. (Gears of War 2)

The Gears games are the best the 360 has to offer

I dont think Grays of War is the best 360 has to offer graphically (after all, Mass Effect 2 blows both of them out of the water graphically).

Still Unreal Engine 3 though. That's a problem though. Microsoft doesn't have a developer who made a propriety engine which can push the 360 more than UE3. Sony has at least 4 (Uncharted engine, Killzone 2 engine, God of War 3 engine and Gran Turismo 5 engine).

The WipEout HD engine is spectacular as well, especially with the tweaks they made to the Fury add on. Media Molecule's is good as well, in terms of sheer number of calculations it can do, while maintaining a very clean look with great texture quality. I think Microsoft's advantage here is that multiplatform engines seem to work better though. UE3, MT Framework, RAGE, whatever all seem to work better. |
