So the game has a 97 on Metacritic and IGN gave it straight 10s. Should be awesome. I hope I'm just as wowed by this as the original. It's been a while since I used my Wii.

Getting very good reviews indeed. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

You have to use the Wiimote, but Galaxy doesn't force feed it to you like a lot of other Wii games. It feels natural.

I recently purchased this game. I've never been big on Mario games, but I played the first Galaxy so I decided to give this one a go. This game is a complete upgrade from its predecessor. It's not worse. It's better than the first SMG. The lack of a hub isn;t as bad as some might think. There is a sort of hub, and you can do everything from there that you could in the observatory, only it's much smaller, making it easier to get around. As of 32 stars, I have yet to find any major problems with this game. You could make the argument that it's just more of the same, but isn't that what sequels are? This is Super Mario Galaxy 2. It follows the trends set by the first Super Mario Galaxy, and adds some new stuff. If they make SMG3, it'll follow the same pattern. Wait for a game without the 'Galaxy' in the title for something really new. More to come when I've played more.

Game is awesome. Been going through very slowly to try and get all the stars to avoid going back late. Am loving how much they streamlined it, and made it less of chore to complete levels. Am yet to find a level I haven't enjoyed unlike the first game. |

OK, the Spring and Boo transformations are a little clumsy. Just a little. I, too, have yet to play a single level that isn't fun. Space Storm second star and Throwback Galaxy blew my mind into tiny pieces like I didn't even think was possible. Can't say anything like that about the first game. Or any Mario game, really. OPETH: Wiimote + nunchuck required. But this game is made by the the guys who wanted it there in the first place, so they know what they're doing with it. It's all very minimal, anyways. Just the IR pointer and some shaking here and there.
