And why should I care? Is it just an RPG in a similar vein to Pokemon? Or do you just go around killing dragons in turn based RPG battles? I just read the review of it on IGN and it doesn't REALLY exaplin what the game is. |

From what I understand, you're given quests that all involve hunting monsters. I don't think it's turn based though. Japanese people love it, so it can't be that good (the handheld versions seem to be most popular though for Ad-hoc playing). |

It an "Action" RPG, in many ways similar to an MMO. However it plays like a pure Action game only with armor/weapon crafting to get more powerful. The prospects of which are to learn the ways to kill beasts, similar to say downing a Mega Man Boss, and the use it's materials to craft better weapons and armor so you can slay stronger beasts. It's an RPG in the sense that it has town for excepting quests and stuff, and MMO like multi player functions. Not in the sense that it plays by menus, hack and slashing to get stronger, or even story those sorts of things aren't here. In away it has far more in common with Western RPGs. It is a game where the whole point is to hunter monsters, literally, no pokemon mechanics, no turn based menus, no push x repeatedly till dead(That would get you killed fast by the monsters), no convoluted story to dig through(all I'm sure there is something, not like I've played Tri, but Quests usually have a little bit of story). |

It's basically a bunch of boss battles. But with what Mr. Jones said.

yeah can someone explain monster hunter to me too? i just got to the second world and for some reason all i have done so far is hit raptors with a stick the depth of the gameplay seems to be focused around the fact that you move all clunky and there is no auto camera for some inexplicable reason |
