It would be nice to see some actual titles for it. Personally im more inclined to think that the games will be eye-toy-esque and not anything from the over-exaggerated 'demo reel', which is fine since i believe ms are only turning to natal in order to capitalise on the casual crowd.

Give an ACTUAL reason why you believe it will flop, as opposed to "It's not Nintendo doing it lol".

Name ONE thing Microsoft has GENUINELY pushed and advertised hard that's failed*.

*Keep regions in mind here. In Australia, NOTHING MS has advertised has performed poorly.

360 Console - Successful
Halo - kicked ass
Gears of War - kicked ass

That's pretty much all MS has advertised HARD, and all 3 have been successful worldwide (bar stupid Japan which barely counts considering how weird they are).

Natal will be pushed as basically a new console. I don't see it being a flop. It won't be as big as the Wii obviously, but with a MASSIVE marketing push and the 50 pound/99.95AU/~70USD price range tey're going for, it's going to do VERY well for them.

Can guarantee you now it won't 'flop'. But then again, what's your measure of flop?

This will be good... but I dont think people will be willing to buy Natal unless it comes with some kind of game, even if its just something small and simple like a Wii Sports-esque thing, or maybe an old game that works with Natal, like they showed with Burnout Paradise. 70$ is a lot to bite when you know there's gonna be games that only work with it, you have to have a console which costs hundreds, then you're told that that 70$ camera doesn't play any of your existing games and have to buy another 60$ game too to use it.

There's a BIG difference between people like you, and myself.

I'm a videogamer who happens to like the console that is the best gaming machine this generation.

My favourite game right now is Ratchet and Clank Crack In Time. This, despite JUST having bought a new MW2 Elite Console (my 4th 360), MW2 Prestige, New Super Mario Bros., DJ Hero 360, Tekken 360 and Uncharterd 2.

Why?

Because Ratchet is a game that takes me back to a simpler time when platform/adventure games ruled the earth, a time when I was a Segabot.

A time when it was acutally NINTENDO that converted me into a multiplatform owner with Mario Kart 64. Which then shoehorned me onto gems like Banjo Kazooie, Jet Force Gemini, Zelda OOT, and all the other magnificent 3D adventure games we got that gen.

It's my favourite genre, and my favourite console doesn't even have a great example of it.

YOU on the other hand, are the type of person that would play a game like Ratchet and Clank, enjoy it more than say Mario Galaxy, but not only not admit to liking it more on a message board, but you would deny YOURSELF the freedom to admit you like it out of some ridiculous love for a company that couldn't give two shits about you.

Just buy/play games you enjoy man, don't worry about who makes them.

The fact that the 360 is my favourite console, is purely by chance. It was never a concious decision. The OS speaks to me, Live is perfection, and it has the best controller I've ever held. Seems like reason enough to me to make it my favourite console.

If the PS4 can out do all those factors with their next console, there's NO reason the PS4 wouldn't be my favourite console NEXT gen.

I can tell you now, if it wasn't for the SHITTY PSN (which IS getting better as time goes on) and the controller made for baby hands, there's every chance I'd like the PS3 more, but as it is, it's pretty hard to prefer a PS3 over a 360 once you've used them both to their full capabilities. The only people I know who prefer the PS3 over the 360 (that have both) are the fanboys who know no better.

Even some of THEM I've managed to open their eyes. I have a mate who has ONLY ever owned Playstation products. His GF and I bought him a 360 (he had played mine and actually preferred the controller, which is understandable) and he promptly lent his PS3 to a friend of his so he could devote his time to the 360. He totally doesn't care when he gets the PS3 back. He loves the 360 that much, and he even doesn't give a rats about paying for Live.

Funnily enough, of ALL the Wii owners I know (there's about 7)? I'm the ONLY one who still plays it semi-regularly. Why? Because I play games I love. I don't give a shit what console it's on.

THAT is the real reason you think 'Natal will flop'. As I said, the fact that you believe it would succeed if Nintendo made it, is what makes anything you say so irrelevant. It's such a dumb and useless point of view.

Like the Wii, if utilised correctly, Natal will be fine. Unfortunately for Wii owners (and fortunately for Nintendo) one of the only times they got the Wii right was with the pack in game. In the end, that's all they needed.

So if MS can just get the pack-in game right (assuming they have one) Natal will be snapped up by at LEAST half the existing 34 million 360 owners, and who knows, it might even attract a few new ones.

If that's a 'flop' then it'll be the greatest flop in history.

Well, 06barnhill also believes every nonsense rumor he hears about Natal. I believe he claimed in another discussion that the main reason it would flop is because it doesn't have a function for pressing the Start or Back buttons. Which he read on some site that nobody's ever heard of. :/
